Let Creativity Guide You Home
My approach
Art Therapy is first and foremost relational therapy. The active, sensory-based dynamic between me and my client acknowledges the interconnectivity between body, mind, and emotion. Between past, present, and future, and between people, places, and culture. Using psychosynthesis as the psychological framework for coming into relationship with aspects of yourself that have been closed off, art therapy offers new insights into your own psychology in a gentle, non-threatening way.
I offer many creative and therapeutic tools while maintaining a Person-Centred Approach. I have an MSc in Creative Arts psychotherapy, an MA in Applied Psychosynthesis, and a BA(Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Art Therapy. All that combined with being a Reiki Master means I offer a holistic approach to the process of returning to wholeness.
Art Therapy
Art therapy offers a form of self-expression and exploration that helps a person navigate difficult experiences in life. It encourages personal growth, resilience and emotional development. Art IN therapy, as opposed to art AS therapy, is the best way to describe the way I use art with my clients. Image, colour, symbol and story are the language of the unconscious mind. Art therapy invites a dialogue between the conscious and unconscious mind in the presence of a trained professional. It’s about listening to the image and allowing the client to interpret the meaning and message of their work. Art making allows a person to directly address issues that evoke anxiety and fear in a safe, non-judgmental way. Difficult emotions can be expressed and released, allowing the energy needed for holding them to be used more creatively in your life.

Testimonials
Anne C, Ireland
“Working with Trish changed my life because it changed my relationship with myself. I like myself now (which is new for me) and understand the way I think and behave so much better. I love doing the drawing and journaling and totally see that as my way to hear whats really going on with me. Trish is supportive without being directive and she showed me how to take care of myself by including the younger parts of me that needed reparenting. During COVID she was my lifeline online. She gave me access to compassion when I needed it most. With her help, I can now bring that to myself.”
