Creative Practice for Self-Supervision

This course is a great way for counsellors and psychotherapists to develop their own Creative Practice. Just as you might have a yoga or meditation practice, a Creative Practice is a way to connect with a deeper aspect of yourself. Using a Creative Practice can deepen the self- supervision process and bring new layers of understanding to your client work. The inner supervisor is what allows us to become reflective and reflexive with our clients.

This workshop is for counselors and psychotherapists interested in taking a creative approach to inner child work.

The workshop will help you explore your own attitudes and perspectives on inner child work. It will allow you to become clearer about the psychological framework you use to support inner child work, building confidence and competence in this area of practice.

Using art, you will be invited to deepen your relationship with your own inner child. The workshop is experiential and requires you to have some art materials to hand. (no need to be good at art, you can let your four-year-old do the drawing)

We will explore the creation and expression of defense systems that keep the inner child safe and look at resourcing the adult who will do the work of re-parenting. We will explore ways to creatively work with clients to soften their engagement with younger parts.
