We have cents

Utilising the creative potential of the family of humanity.

MONEY ! MONEY ! MONEY ! MONEY !

The whole world seems to be focusing on the problems of money right now so I say let’s use that attention to change the perception we have around money and come up with a more creative solution.  As I see it,it’s not money that’s the problem it’s the uneven distribution that creates the world’s woes.
Now I know it’s easy to go into blame and to talk about greed and corruption and what caused the problems in the first place. But that kind of thinking only corroborates the basic premise that there is not enough to go around and I want to challenge that.

Just for a moment consider this.

The creation of a global initiative that would connect people in every continent, country, town and village around the world, with the single objective of bringing into balance the wealth of the world.

The idea in a nut shell would work like this;

On the eighth day of every month every person in the world (who can) pays one cent (or equivalent) into the We Have Cents fund.  The money gathered could then be channelled through existing goodwill arteries getting it directly to where it can do the most good.
This would in effect create a Mexican wave of money moving round the world month after month fuelled by the energy of good will and with the sole purpose of lending a helping hand where it’s needed most.
Almost everyone can spare 1cents once a month and with the current digital transfer technology available, anyone with a mobile phone, bank account or credit card can set up a simple transaction for the year.

The Aims of the initiative would be to demonstrate the power of the individual,as part of the group to make real and sustainable change in world of finances.
To spread the wealth of the world more equitably supporting the growth of rising economies in third world countries.
To focus group consciousness on one intention, that of goodwill to our fellow man.

The Hopes would be to change the dire situation some countries now find themselves.
To show governments round the world that the people want this problem solved and are willing to do something about it themselves.
To unite the family of mankind through a single initiative based in love not fear.

How would we guarantee absolute transparency? How do we ensure all the money is used for its intended purpose?  These are perfectly valid questions and right now I don’t have all the answers nor do I claim to have either the knowledge nor the expertise to provide adequate solutions but what I do know is this,if I let all my personal not knowing overwhelm me I’ll do nothing and nothing will change for people living in need.

What I do know is that I can do this bit.  It’s going to take time to gather the right people with the appropriate skills and I trust that they will come forward to participate in this initiative because it’s good and it will work.  I’m not just doing my bit,I’m also asking each and every one of you to do your bit too.

The whole point of this initiative is to demonstrate what we can achieve together, that it needn’t be up to only one person to have all the answers. The real power is the creative potential of the collective mind and the group effort towards a single goal.  It is the power of our group intention that increases our chance of success. The human race in its hurry towards what we call progress seems to have forgotten that People Matter.  Every person matters because we all have something to offer even if it is only the commitment to give one cent every month to show you care.

At this time of global recession when everyone is focused on money or rather the lack of it,it looks to me like the systems for moving money has too many stops and starts in its process. The ‘yours and mine’ mentality breaks up the flow and clogs the arteries that bring life saving cash to where it is needed most. What if we started thinking about money as ours?

My call to join forces is to people not politicians, not to the ten richest men in the world or to the multibillion dollar industries who have already shown they have no real sense of moral conscience towards either the planet or its people. But to the ordinary person like myself, the person on the dole, the people who work nine to five week in and week out people who can, believe it or not actually change the world by simply saying YES to this initiative.

It’s time to recognise that you can make a difference.  That we all can. Together we can free up the flow of money, wave after wave of cash will gradually reshape the global economy along with our own attitude towards the distribution of wealth and the balance of power.  With steadfast perseverance month after month we can corrode away the corruption that obstructs the flow of wealth to the poorest nations and over time eventually change the landscape of business practices in the world today.

This may seem like a lofty goal but when the world wide wave of cash swells on the eighth day of every month that is exactly what’s happening. Imagine we could do that! How cool would that be?  Doesn’t it make sense to try?

Every person in the world matters. If you think your one cent is too small to count, then I would remind you of this. Each and every single drop of the mighty ocean that formed the majestic Grand Canyon mattered.
Your choice matters. I invite you to say yes.

Are you with me?
